The Mount Clemens Public Library and the Selfridge Military Air Museum have collaborated on a book entitled Images of Aviation, Selfridge Field to be published by Arcadia Publishing. We expect the book to be available in the late spring/early summer of 2006.

Through nearly 200 captioned photos, the book will cover the story of Selfridge ANG Base from its tenuous start in the mud flats along Lake St Clair to its present-day form as an exemplary joint military community hosting units from all of the US armed services.

Photographs, many never before published, from the Research Library at the Selfridge Military Air Museum along with images from the Macomb Daily newspaper archives at the Mount Clemens Public Library and other sources, will chronicle the role of the installation as both a community and military asset.

The book will retail for $19.99 plus tax (1.20) through the Selfridge Military Air Museum, the Mount Clemens Public Library, local bookstores, and local/national retail outlets and organizations. Shipping and handling charges ($1.96) will apply if you request the book be mailed to you by the Selfridge Military Air Museum.
