Adopted by the Selfridge Fire Department

The A/S32P-15 firefighting truck was designed to combat aircraft fires in all weather conditions. Its main function was to discharge foam agent on a crash site and to extinguish the fire within seconds of arrival. The fire truck on display was the second prototype built by Oshkosh . It was originally based at Wurtsmith AFB near Oscoda MI and was moved to Selfridge ANGB MI when Wurtsmith AFB was inactivated.  The P-15 on display was replaced by a P-23 that is still in use at the Selfridge Fire Department.
