SELFRIDGE MILITARY AIR MUSEUM

DESCRIPTION

Established in 1975 as as outreach effort of the Michigan Air Guard Historical Association.

Collects, preserves, and displays military artifacts, memorabilia, and aircraft of relevance to Selfridge ANG Base and the Michigan Air National Guard.

No federal or state funds.

No paid staff.

501c(3) non-profit organization.

PROGRAM

WE NEED YOUR HELP

Organizational "adoption" of an airplane.

Designated point of contact (POC) to act as the interface between the Museum and the organization.

Organization to assist volunteers with large tasks.

Spring & Fall cleaning

Repainting as necessary

Maintenance/repair as capable

WHAT DOES THE ORGANIZATION GET?

Pride of "ownership"

Focus on a common goal

Contribution to a community historical asset

Organizational recognition on a sign in front of the display, e.g.,

LIABILITY

Sponsors protected by the Museum’s insurance protection while assisting.

Direct supervision by trained volunteers if necessary.

All cleaning and painting supplies and equipment provided by the Museum.
